Hopefully you will have already heard the news that Motorsport UK are allowing permits for events from 4th July, so after what will be a nine month hiatus S&S are back. We have worked hard to get some events back on the calendar for you, but please note that the situation could change at any time in accordance with government, Motorsport UK and local area guidelines/lockdowns.
We have rejiggled the Comp Safari’s, and put one each of the TYRO, RTV and CCV events on for you. All events, including the trials, will be Open – meaning that non ALRC club members are allowed to enter. The calendar of events is set out below, with notes about each event. Please take time to read the notes below for Competitors, Navigators, Officials, Pit Crew and Spectators, with particular attention to the camping rules, before entering or attending events.

Firstly, if you plan on attending an event in any capactity, please make sure your membership is up to date and any Motorsport UK licenses are in place. As per Motorsport UK guidelines each event will have a COVID-19 Officer in place to oversee the situation.
Those that registered for the 2020 Comp Safari Championship will still get priority booking despite not running a championship this year. They have transferred their registration to next year and their continued support is being recognised accordingly, but they will pay full price for events this year. Other drivers will be able to enter on the dates given above. Pre-booking for the trials will not open until we know for sure that Green Hall will run, and numbers will be limited.
Upon entering you agree to using our online system for signing on, which incorporates a scrutineering declaration. This will be sent to the address that the pre-booking comes from about a week before the event takes place, and needs to be completed and returned to ourselves by the Wednesday before to allow us to process the information. If not received the entry will be void and the entrant will not be allowed to compete.
DUAL DRIVES/DOUBLE ENTRIES
Dual drives are welcomed in Comp Safari as well as double entries for trials, but they are only allowed where all parties are cohabitants in the same household. Remember that all drivers of 18 years and over need at least a RS Clubman licence, and these details can be checked by Motorsport UK. These drivers will have to fill out their own copy of the Motorsport UK signing on sheet, which will be sent to them via the pre-booking email, and must be completed and returned to ourselves by the Wednesday before the event to allow us to process the information. If not received they will not be able to compete.
NAVIGATORS/PASSENGERS (limited to two people)
We have had confirmation that navigators/passengers are allowed, but only where all parties are cohabitants in the same household. Again, remember that all navigators/passengers of 18 years and over need at least a RS Clubman licence, and these details can be checked by Motorsport UK. All navigators/passengers will have to fill out their own copy of the Motorsport UK signing on sheet, which will be sent to them via the driver, and must be completed and returned to ourselves by the Wednesday before the event to allow us to process the information. If not received they will not be able to sit in.
It goes without saying that officials and marshals are needed for all events. Please get in touch if you are willing to volunteer your time at an event and then a Motorsport UK signing on sheet will be sent out for you to complete before the event. This must be received back by the Wednesday before the event. You will receive the password to pay for camping if required. Marshal crews are limited to two people, and social distancing measures must be taken unless you are from the same household.
CAMPING (must be pre-booked)
We will be limiting camping to units containing competitors, navigators, officials and pit crew (see below) ONLY for the time being and it must be pre-booked so that we do not have to take payment on the day. A password to access the camping booking in will be sent when we send the signing on form out. You will be asked to supply the name of all those attending in the single camping unit when pre-booking, and they must be cohabitants in the same household.
Please note that all those staying overnight MUST use their own toilet facilities for the duration of the weekend. There will be emptying facilites on site, plus two toilets for the use of day visitors ONLY. We will endeavour to layout enough camping pitches for the weekend, plus areas for those that arrive on the day to compete – we ask that you park within these areas and refrain from gathering in large groups. Camping units and people arriving on the day must be pre-booked or no entry.
As navigators from other households are not allowed, and because many of those people help with the maintenance of vehicles during the event, we will allow one more camping unit per entry, but they must be a member of a Motorsport UK club for insurance purposes. This person must be named on the last section of the signing on form sent to the entrant.
At this time spectators will not be allowed.
We will keep our fingers crossed all runs smoothly, and please remember it is the individuals responsibility to adhere to the rules.
